pin me never

Heath Ledger is dead.
Possibly due to drug overdose (possibly? cute guy, succesful acting career, anything is possible -- at least its not aids, the slowly but surely dying is more humiliating because you can hear their snide comments when they are being given)...

Too many people are dying these days - oh wait, death didnt stop from occuring since time immemorial -- it's just that, it's more sensationalised now more than ever. Remember those days, when snail mail was the 'in thing' and that you have to wait and agonized for over a month before you can plan a dinner party? Dear Monica, I want to give you a party, when do you think you can come by? I'll await your reply next month.

Everything is happening so fast these days, I can't hardly breathe. People constantly changing jobs, relationships, friends, favorites as if everything is dispensible -- oh well, everything really is. But not everything is disposable. Not everything should go to trash just becuase you've 'used' them already.Sometimes, we confuse the two.

I wish I can follow my own advice. I have restless feet and a wandering soul. I ahve so many things I want to do, that I bid goodbye to almost everything because I'm afraid staying a bit longer might help them chain me down. I excuse myself to almost anything, loving the solace of my loneliness and relishing the muted sound of my walls. I always cry out that I am trapped but almost always, nobody can get hold of me -- trapped in my own restlessness. I move in a private circle with my other foot ready to run...

So when I die, I guess, it would be a lonely death.
But all deaths are lonely becuase you get to die alone... no more, no less.

that pinoy called reynaldo lapuz...

move over william hung, reynaldo lapuz is here.

im sure you are all familiar with American Idol and are particularly interested in its first episodes where they show people auditioning as they scour the different places in US for constestants. And if you were patient enough even though you are experiencing gas because of laughing, you'd remember REYNALDO LAPUZ - 44 years old, from Dallas, male, whom people, at the sight of him, would bow down because of his 'royal'/elvis/furry/birdy white custome that comes with a cape. He was the last contestant, and the one that made the judges sing and dance with him.

When I first saw him, I was like - "is he filipino?" ..."oh my God! he IS Filipino?!!!"... but the initial shock didn't last long. I was amused. Filipinos are slowly making a mark in the world. And now, here's one who was able to put his flag on American Idol.

I was scared to hear him sing, but when he did - he actually could. Unlike William Hung, he hit his notes right...well, who could say he didn't, he was singing his own composition. He wasn't rude, he was grateful, and he gracefully accepted the word "NO". In fact, He was in tears in the end, grateful to have been given the chance, and as he puts it..."free of charge" (o diba pinoy talaga).

Simon you are a great person.

You give chance to everyone to sing to the whole world. I thank you.
You are heaven’s chosen to give chance to any talent for free of charge.

Even they throw you negative words, but there are many people who really like you, who really admire you.
One of them is me, you are a great person, Simon.

Funny how I can transparently see his being a Filipino. His manners, his humility, his gratefulness for little small things, his bad taste in costumes (ehe!). Others call it, colonial mentality. Maybe...maybe not. But one thing I am sure of, I am proud of him for understanding the word "NO". Didn't cajoled the judges, didn't threatened, did't even begged for a second chance. Being denied and not accepting it is more humiliating than singing the wrong note. Being a bad singer is better than being someone who doesn't have manners.

So everyone who knows the song ... sing ^.^

I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We’re brothers til the end of time
Together forever til the end of time
I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We’re brothers til the end of time
Together or not, you’re always in my heart
Your hurting feelings
Will reign no more.

gravity is against my side

Gravity is just not cooperating. It's keeping me on the ground-- not letting me soar enough to have that itchy chip on my shoulder melt...I just have to get closer to the sun, one way or another -- Or I get cranky and deppressed and just downright rude. I tried jumping butgravity pulls my legs back on the ground reminding me that me jumping is not working...and it even had the nerve to pin the blame on to my weight. I swear to God I saw Li Mo Bai jump and soar and dance on bamboo trees. So what makes him so special that gravity lets him fly just like that...oh -- never mind, he died at the end of the movie.

*Sigh. So what do you do when you are in pain? What do you do when you feel suffocated? What do you want when you just can't bear to stand on the ground anymore? What do you plead for when all your bargaining chips are down?

I stare at the walls. There is nothing to do...unless gravity sucks my eyeballs out. yuck.

I can't sleep...

*yawns...i am soo sleepy yet I can't sleep. I am thinking of things that you need not consider when you wake up around 4 in the morning...like, I really need to decorate the room downstairs, I need to re arrange furnitures, buy a wall decor or two? oh, how about the pooh frame I saw, it was really cool...I'm hungry. *yawns.

I seriously need to go to sleep - problem is, sleep jsut evades me. I don't want hit the bed when everybody is up -- busily cooking and cleaning and shouting that breakfast is ready. Anyways, if I miss a good night's sleep, I'd have momentary lapses and I tend to stare at space for no apparent reason except that my brain is blinking and is on the verge of a short circuit - plus, I get cranky. Sleep deprivation can be a reason for electric shortage in the brain thus, putting me in a constant, "shock-me-please-mode", and if satisfactorily answered, may result to a voltage power outage that might result to a not so pleasant experience for the one that answered the "call" -- e.g. digimon evolution - from a walking-talking-specimen to a high end target of anger.

*yawns, I'm gonna try and hit the bed, open the television for comfort...and maybe sleep will dawn on me (and pray that nobody prematurely yells for breakfast).

p.s. oist kitten, aha naman ka, ang pasalubong nako imong gi-panos ha!

I'm a new postie ^.^

Hehehe! it's been a looong wait. I learned about payperpost in davaosale and thought that it was really cool. Ok..ok... the person also posted that she and her husband was able to go to Disneyland -- that was the one line that motivated me. I want to go to Disneyland too and hug mickey mouse and maybe even kiss Donald Duck. Not to mention I was bored beyond recognition. And also I'm a kind of girl who would be excited over winning stuff from crowns no matter how stupid it is...so why not try this -- plus I have the trip to Disneyland as my focus and prize.

So I signed up...not being a fan reader of any manuals and FAQ I did have a hard time figuring out why my blogs were rejected. So these are some points you have to look out when you sign up...
  • blogs must be 90 days old
  • blogs must have entries of more than 20 or more
  • entries must not have a gap of more than 30 days in between
  • exercise the english language
for more complicated stuff get your instructions here.

write a blog
When you sign up, you will see in the dashboard all the opportunities that are available and the pay they will give you once your blog and your post is approved. More often than not, it will take them two days to confirm whether your blog has been rejected. When your blog's been approved, only then can you qualify to post. In the Opportunities tab, you will see the different companies wanting to have someone write soemthing about them and the pay they are willing to give. If you click on it, the terms and conditions, as well as the nature and minimum words accepted is written there. I don't know about other forms of payment, but what I'm using right now is Paypal. For Philippine bloggers, we have no paypal in the phil, one suggestion is that you can have someone you trust in the US to create a paypal account for you, so all your earnings will go there and you can have internal arrangements to have it sent to you.Payments vary from $5 to $100 to more. Oh, can take as much as 3 opportunities per day.

**not all opportunites are available to you. Some companies have their own specification like location of the blogger and the kind of blogs they have.Example, one company would only want bloggers from North America, Austaralia and Canads to write about their products and services.

refer a friend
Aside from blogging, you can also earn through referrals. If someone clicked your link and signed up and was approved. Most likely 90 days after he/she signed up, providing that he/she gets approved. If he/she signs up and was not approved -- sorry.

Did I mentioned that it's free?
I read somewhere that if something like this asks you money upon signing up, most likely it is a scam. Happy blogging guys ^.^

out with karen...

...just got home and am happy to see Karen is in Davao... As usual, we went to get a burger mcdo and fries while we happily chat about what's happening between us. We went to see the movie, sakal, sakali, saklolo...a manila film fest entry. It was about couples and their meddling in laws. We were laughing not because the movie made us laugh, but how we get to talk about the characters and how it really is too real for comfort. I can see my mom everywhere plastered in the movie. Always fussing about whether I was fed ok and just damn nosy. Karen's mom can also be seen there and it made us really laugh...Do you remember that thingie about - if you want to know your future, look at your mother...coz you're most likely to turn out like her?
sheeeeshhh...i'd grow up to be semi-psychotic and karen will develop an Obssessive cumpulsive disorder...just great.

new year blues

my head hurts and the lights here in the room is hurting my eyes. What a way to start the new year. *sigh did anybody do anything new to celebrate the new year this year? hmmm... so far, it's the same signing, eating, getting drunk routine -- same as last year, except that today, the liquor is not that flourishing (krisis) and attendance of relatives may not be perfect (mahal pamasahe hehehe).

We all know that there is a firecracker ban in Davao City for quite some time now, and so, imagine my surprise when I heard firecrackers and stuff. I just moved in to my new home last june, so I'm not really familiar with the people here...yes, I've met some, but I haven't eaten from anybody's house yet, sheeesh....anyways, the firecrackers really jolted me back to reality...

NEW YEAR NA PALA!!!

it didn't last long though...well, firecrackers are noisy and it being illegal, you're bound to get caught sooner or later...the police won't need to interrogate your accomplices, the firecracker itself cries wolf...it's ironic...you cannot hide really when you use firecrackers...it's too noisy...either that...or a part of your anatomy will catch on fire -- consider ur house as an appendage.

Haaaayyyy.... anyways, so it was noisy last night while we, on the other hand are totally unprepared. Our kaldero have all been used, so we can't take it out to bang it on our gates and no torototot is available...so we blasted the karaoke machine...12 midnight came and more noise was heard...we belted out with the mic in position.... and we won -- we howled till everybody was quiet...we stopped not out of sympathy -- but our conscience and common sense, as well as our instinct for survival dictated it (angry neighbors can be extremely dangerous, you know)...which reminds me of the book -
500 people you'll meet in hell...what's the connection? well, one of the people you'll meet, according to the book, is your neighbor with their blasted karaoke machine...

uhh---does that mean, I'm destined to go to hell? waaahhh!

upon meeting you...

...it was as thought i had fallen into a pool of water, it was as though the moon was singing my name...it was all i had hoped for

(bilhah - red tent)
